WHAT IS INVISALIGN AND IS IT RIGHT FOR ME?

INVISALIGN BASICS

Invisalign is an orthodontic treatment that straightens teeth using smooth, comfortable clear plastic aligners. A series of aligners are custom made to precisely fit over your teeth. They have a snug fit and gently move your teeth into alignment. They’re virtually invisible, so very few people will even notice you’re wearing them. The best part is that they are completely removable so there is very little disruption to the way you live. Not only can you eat, brush and floss as you normally do, but you can even take them off for important meetings, events or photos.

What Conditions Can Invisalign Treat?

Invisalign can treat a variety of issues, including gaps, misalignment, overbite, underbite, crossbite, and overcrowding. To find out if you’re a candidate for Invisalign©, just call our office to setup a complimentary consultation.

What's The Process?

The Invisalign process is simple and straightforward. We’ll start by talking with you and listening to you to understand your smile goals. Next, we’ll examine your teeth and take impressions, x-rays, and photographs to ensure you are a candidate for this treatment. If you are a candidate, a 3-D model of your teeth will be developed to provide a treatment plan for you. It will determine the length of your Invisalign treatment and the number of aligners needed to complete it. We will let you know what to expect when your Invisalign treatment is complete.

The pictures, diagnostic studies, and treatment plan will be sent to the Invisalign laboratory to make customized aligners for you. When you receive the aligners, you’ll wear them all day, every day. You only take them off to eat or to floss and brush your teeth. You’ll wear each set of aligners for two weeks. Although each new set will loosen after a few days,  it’s very important not to switch to a new set prematurely. Your teeth need time to adjust to their new position.

You will return to our office for periodic checkups. At the end of Invisalign treatment, your smile will be gorgeously transformed.

Can't I Just Order Aligners?

You can. There are services that provide aligners by mail. It’s important to consider that any orthodontic procedure is going to change the alignment of your teeth. If you’ve ever had a filling, you’ll recall that your dentist was very careful to make sure that your bite (the way you’re teeth come together) was unchanged. That’s because any modification to the size, shape or alignment of your teeth can affect your long term dental health. Imbalances in your bite can cause excessive wear, breakage, decay and other problems. A certified Invisalign provider will not only make sure your aligners are right for you, but will also monitor every step of your progress. This ensures, among other things, that your bite remains balanced so that you can continue to enjoy predictable dental health.

WHAT ARE THE advtanges of invisalign over traditional “braces”?

Invisible braces have many advantages. Some are obvious, but there are many other benefits to consider.

1. The aligners are invisible so few people will even notice you’re wearing them.

2. You’ll remove the aligners when you eat, so you don’t have to avoid crunchy foods, or be concerned about food sticking to your braces.

3. Invisalign is made of medical-grade plastic, so it’s much more comfortable than traditional braces.

4. You’ll have fewer checkup appointments than with traditional braces—every four to six weeks—which saves you time and money.

5. Your teeth will be aligned in as little as half the time of traditional braces.

EVEN SMALL CHANGES CAN MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE IN THE WAY YOU LOOK AND FEEL

If you want your teeth aligned with precision and in as little as half the time of traditional braces, Invisalign may be an option for you. Call us at 416-482-9100 or complete the form below to schedule a complimentary consultation.
